Residence permit in Turkey

From July 1, 2022, the areas of Alanya - Kargicak, Mahmutlar, Kestel, and Avsallar were included in the prohibited list for obtaining a primary RESIDENCE PERMIT. This is a temporary measure due to the fact that the number of foreigners in these areas exceeded 20 percent of the total population.

The ban applies only to primary residence permits.
It is possible to RENEW a residence permit for rent and Tapu (property document). In the case of renting, it is necessary that the foreigner stays in the same apartment.
The ban applies to citizens of all countries.
Obtaining a primary residence permit in a "closed area" can:

Close relatives (husband/wife, minor children) of those who already have a residence permit and newborn children.
For whom the lease agreement was notarized before 07/01/2022.
The ban on primary residence permits in “closed areas” will remain in effect until the number of foreigners in these areas decreases. Now, due to the large number of visitors, there are difficulties with places in educational institutions, transport and other infrastructure can hardly cope.

Those who are going to get a primary residence permit for rent in a “closed area” are given one month to find housing in another area where the ban does not apply.

In Alanya, for obtaining a primary residence permit, areas popular among foreigners remain open - the entire center of Alanya, Oba, Tosmur, Konakli, Okurcalar, Payallar, as well as Demirtas and Gazipasa.
